The Practice on Francis Street undertakes to protect patient privacy by adhering to all relevant legislation on the collection, storage, use and disclosure of health information.
When collecting information, it will be obtained directly from the patient or other authorised person unless there is a lawful reason for collection from another source. Only relevant information will be collected, and patient’s will be informed of the reason for collection and what will be done with the information.
Patient health information will only be collected for the purpose of treating the patient unless consent has been obtained.
All health information will be stored securely and only accessed by authorised personnel.
Health information will not be disclosed without patient consent unless there is a lawful reason for doing so.
Patients have the right to access their health information.

What is HealthOne?
HealthOne is a South Island based secure electronic record that allows registered healthcare providers directly involved in your healthcare, to quickly access information such as your test results, allergies, medications, GP summaries and hospital information. HealthOne adheres to the principles of the Privacy Act 2020 as well as the Rules set out in the Health Information Privacy Code 2020. Access is only possible via an approved highly secure healthcare information network which is regularly audited and tested.
