The Practice
The Practice on Francis Street is a new nurse lead practice in the Blenheim CBD, which opened in May 2024. The team includes a General Practitioner, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse and Registered Nurse Prescriber. We are committed to working together to provide innovative, high quality, holistic health care tailored to the needs of each of our patients.

Dr Eric Wegener
General Practitioner
Eric completed medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine and Family Practice Residency at Maine Dartmouth Family Practice Residency. He worked in hospital practice and general practice in Indiana for 10 years prior to moving to New Zealand where he did solo general practice in Roxburgh for ten years. He moved to Blenheim in 2013 and joined Lister Court. He enjoys all aspects of primary care.
Ena Jansen van Vuuren
Nurse Practitioner
I immigrated with my family from South Africia in 2008 and have been living in Blenheim since.
I worked as a registered nurse in the children’s ward at Wairau hospital and completed my Master’s Degree in Nursing Science at Victoria University’s School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Practice, during that time. I started working as a practice nurse in general practice in 2016 and went on to complete my Nurse Practitioner Training at Auckland University in 2018.
I have been working as a Nurse Practitioner in primary health since.
I am passionate about my role as Matanga Tapuhi in general practice. I support people in improving their health and navigating the health care system. Patient education and shared decision making is an integral part of my practice.
I am married with two adult children both of whom live in Blenheim. I am passionate about my knitting and spinning and all things fibre.
I look forward to meeting you at The Practice.

I grew up in Indianapolis , Indiana, USA. Training to receive my Baccalaureate in Nursing in May of 1999.
I moved from Indianapolis to Roxburgh, Central Otago in 2004 with my husband, Eric, and our three young boys ages 7, 5 and 4 months.
We stayed in Roxburgh for 10 years working at the rural medical clinic there and loved every minute of it. New Zealand is a very beautiful country.
We moved to Blenheim in 2014 and have enjoyed living and working here since that time.
I enjoy cooking, gardening, hiking, travelling, and of course being a nurse.
I look forward to welcoming you to The Practice and getting to know each other better.

Registered Nurse Prescriber
I graduated from Wellington Polytechnic with a Bachelor of Nursing in 1997. Prior to this I trained and worked for a short time as a health Social Worker. A desire to expand on my skills and knowledge in health lead to a career in nursing.
I have worked in general practice since 2000, in Christchurch and in Blenheim since 2002. In 2022 I completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science from the University of Victoria in Wellington.
Working in general practice and getting to know patients and their extended family is a great privilege. I am looking forward to building new relationships at The Practice.

I am a Cantabrian who moved to Marlborough three years ago with my partner. I have previously worked within the hospital system for Te Whatu Ora Nelson Marlborough. I am looking forward to the opportunity that a new practice offers. I enjoy working with my team to ensure the best experience and outcomes for our patients. When I am not at work you'll find me in the garden or at the beach walking my blue heeler.

I moved to Marlborough from Manchester, UK, in April 2023 have been enjoying everything this beautiful region has to offer. At work, I’m passionate about helping patients get the best care and building real connections with them. Outside of work, I enjoy being outside in nature, participating in local am-dram, and relaxing with a good book.
