From 4 February 2026, The Practice on Francis Street is using a secure system called the Shared Electronic Health Record (SEHR) to support safe, timely, and well-informed care.
SEHR allows your GP practice team to securely access important information from your visits to Marlborough Urgent Care, helping ensure continuity of care when you need it most.
The Shared Electronic Health Record is a secure system that stores key health information so your healthcare team can quickly see relevant details, understand your health history, avoid delays during urgent care visits, and make safer, more informed decisions about your care.
Only information necessary for your care is accessed, which may include your personal details, long-term health conditions, medications, allergies, immunisations, and recent care summaries if available.
Your privacy is important. You are automatically included in SEHR, and only your GP practice team and Marlborough Urgent Care can access your record. No other organisations can access SEHR at this time. You can choose to opt in or opt out at any time by letting us know at your next visit. You can also change your decision later, and your choice will always be respected.
SEHR includes information from your enrolled general practice and urgent care visits. Your information is stored securely in a New Zealand-based cloud system, with access monitored and logged. SEHR does not replace clinical advice. It is a tool to support your care, and you should continue to tell your healthcare team about any new or changing health information.
You can read more about SEHR and find answers to frequently asked questions at https://sehr.org.nz/frequently-asked-questions/. If you have any questions, please speak with our team.
